I know I've blogged about this before... it may have been a year ago or it may have been three years ago... I don't know. I figure since it's been coming to mind a lot lately that I should write about it again.
A wise pastor once said,
"People don't treat you the way they do because of who you are. They treat you the way they do because of who they are."
See? Told you he was wise.
Now, this doesn't mean that you are perfect and there is nothing wrong with you. We all have things that we need to work on within ourselves. We can always be growing. But when people hurt us... it's because of something in them that they need to work on. It might be insecurities. It might be bitterness because of hurt in their life. It might be jealousy. Who knows what it is. It's not ours to figure out.
Just know that when someone hurts you it isn't because of who you are.
Remember to forgive because they are most likely hurting inside too. And then leave it in God's hands and let Him work on the other person while you let Him work on you.
