Our last real hike at Shenandoah National Park was to Dark Hollow Falls. This trail was only 1.4 miles but don't be fooled in to thinking it's easy. While it wasn't strenuously hard it is a climb to get back out of the woods. You go down to the waterfall and then you have to walk uphill on the entire return trip.
It was definitely worth it though. Dark Hollow Falls is one of the most popular trails in the park and it was obvious as there was a constant flow of people going up and down the trail. And when you got to the bottom... good luck getting a picture of the falls without other people in it. Everyone wanted to get in the water and have their pictures taken in front of the falls, the kids were playing in the water, and everyone else was just hanging out and enjoying it. It was fun. I liked it.
See what I mean...
It was a really pretty place. And a much prettier falls than the last one we hiked to. I was definitely glad that we chose this hike.
We loved it.
We hung out by the falls for a while and just enjoyed being there like everyone else.
The only problem I ran in to on this trail was that I had to pee and couldn't find a place that was hidden away from other people. It was torture.
