Katie's Story

A while ago while working in the nursery at church I was talking with Katie's mom. She was sharing about Katie and I just fell in love with her story. I knew immediately that I wanted to do a photo shoot with Katie.

Katie is almost 15 years old and she is so lovely. I'm going to just share some things that her mom shared with me. The following words are all from Katie's mom...

Doctors are thinking Katie has Jeune's Thoracic Asphyxiation Syndrome and she is presently in the testing phase of it.

She has had a history of hearing loss (praise God she was healed of this), vision loss with potential of being blind by adulthood, learning delays due to lack of prenatal care and preemie and just poor genetics.

Katie has lung issues with recurrent pneumonia, heart issues with chest pain on exertion and bone deformities that cause her to have limitations.

But she is truly one amazing young lady that has let absolutely NOTHING stop her in life.

She came to live with us at 2.5 days of age as a foster kid, grew in our hearts and lives and was adopted on December 3, 1999 at almost 3 years of age.

We were told she was severely retarded (NOT!), the doc told us "she has no brain in that head".

We were told she would not walk, but she walked at age 2. She was delayed in talking and now never shuts up! She has had multiple therapies to walk, talk, eat, breath and the works!

Dr Elias Trabolsi (GOD'S HANDS HERE ON EARTH) has taken her under his wings and is opening a case study on her to help us "figure this out".

Those that know Katie well . . . she is a true survivor and lets NOTHING set her back!

So Friends. That's Katie. :) And her story. And you have to know me well enough by now to know that I can't just leave it at that.

Will you please join me in praying for Katie?

They are currently waiting on blood work that was shipped to Cleveland Clinic's research facility to test for things. Katie is going for cardiac testing and pulmonary testing the first week of November. Her family would love to see God completely heal her of ALL of this! God says of himself "I am the God who heals."
