This is a continuation of the Full Bloom message I shard with a bunch of lovely ladies this past Saturday at Butler Praise and Coffee. In case you missed the first two posts in this series...
L – LOVE
I do believe that there is more needed in life than love but love can definitely greatly impact how we live and how we treat others. But who should we love? Just those we want to love? Only those who are easy to love?
No. We are to love everyone. And that is not an easy thing to do.
This is my command: “love each other.”
Loving others shouldn’t be something we do only when we feel like it. We aren’t told to only love those who are easy to love. Loving isn’t just a suggestion. It’s a command. A simple command... that is sometimes very hard to carry out. Love each other.
Love well. Love deeply. And don’t forget that love sometimes looks tough. But when we can learn to love those who are not so easy to love it changes our perspective. Love helps us see others the way God sees them. Love helps us to recognize the hurt in someone's life that causes them to act the way they do. Loving others changes us.
So we should definitely love others but we also need to remember to love God. Always.
How do we love God?
1 John 5:3-4
This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.
Love can be a hard thing. But it's a command. And we show we love God by obeying His commands.
Are you struggling with loving someone today? Start by praying for them.
