Louisiana Vacation - Baton Rouge

I have been friends with Melissa for about ten years now. She probably knows more about me than anyone else... except Mike. We met on Myspace when Myspace was a thing and just connected immediately. The majority of our friendship happens through emails but a little over three years ago she came to Pennsylvania to spend a week with me. It was a great time and ever since we have been talking about me going to visit her in Louisiana. That FINALLY happened and we had another great week together! I will be sharing pictures and stories of our adventures over the next few days. I hope you enjoy!

We spent my first full day in Louisiana doing things in Baton Rouge. We went to a park, visited the Capital Building and took the elevator to the 27th floor. We then had some lunch and checked out the old Capital Building. It was a beautiful day!!!

I enjoyed actually getting to SEE Louisiana. I had flown in the day before and arrived after dark. I was also quite sick with motion sickness so I didn't see anything as we drove home. But in the daylight!!! I love Louisiana! The trees are amazing and the land is really flat. Rarely even a hill. It was interesting and very different from what I am used to.

I loved the warmer temperatures and seeing GREEN! And color... there were flowers and after seeing brown and white for the past several months it was so refreshing to be outside in a place that didn't look at all like winter!

Pretty much the only hill I saw. I got a little excited.

I'm slightly obsessed with the trees.

The next few are in the Old Capital Building. It was beautiful!!

I'm spending my day relaxing with the kids (snow day) and going through my photos while they watch movies. (A perfect day!) Tomorrow I think I'll share with you my gazillion photos from Rosedown Plantation.
