Summer Reading Program

We LOVE our public library. The staff is really great and they plan so many awesome activities for all age groups.

This year the theme for the summer reading program is HEROES... every hero has a story. Kids are encouraged to read for fifteen hours and every five hours they get a prize. Liza and Jason have both passed then 10 hour mark already.

Wednesday mornings are activity time for the kids in kindergarten through 5th grade and we always look forward to it because it's always super fun! One week we learned about bees... nature's heroes. Last week we heard from our community heroes... fireman, police, EMT, 911 call center... and then got to check out the vehicles and all the kids loved getting to actually turn on the police siren. Tomorrow is Mad Science of Pittsburgh... heroes that wear lab coats instead of capes.

We really do have the best library ever and it's where we have been spending our Wednesday mornings lately!
