I was probably about 9 or 10 years old when my grandma taught me how to crochet. I remember messing around with it from time to time but never really did anything with it... until I was in my 20s. I retaught myself and then also learned how to knit. I made some scarves but that was about it.
After I had kids I needed something that I could do for myself and started crocheting again. I taught myself how to read patterns and tried a hat. It turned out!! Eventually, a friend asked if I would make a hat for her soon-to-be-born baby and offered to pay. That was my first order. I made the hat, posted a photo to Facebook and Wix-Works was born!
I've been custom crocheting hats for people that want to keep heads warm during the cold months for a few years now.
